Hi, I’m Steph, the founder of Pawsome Walkies Edinburgh, a multi award-winning pet care service established in the summer of 2019. Based in the East of Edinburgh, I offer caring, reliable, and professional dog walking, boarding, cat sitting, and pop-in visits, tailored to the individual needs of each pet and their owner.
Animals have been at the heart of my life and career for over 19 years. I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of species, breeds, temperaments, and behaviours—experience that’s been gained through both hands-on care and formal education. My qualifications include:
Higher National Diploma in Animal Care
SVQ in Animal Care (SCQF Level 6)
Canine First Aid Certified
I’ve spent 6+ years at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, and over 7 years as a Senior Animal Rescue Officer with the Scottish SPCA, where I helped animals in some of the most challenging situations. This background has given me deep insight into animal behaviour, handling, and welfare.
I’m fully insured, licenced, PVG checked, Disclosure Scotland checked, hold a clean driving licence, and am registered with the City of Edinburgh Council—giving you peace of mind that your pet is in experienced and trustworthy hands.
At home, I share my life with Skye, a wonderful rescue dog rehomed from the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. I previously cared for Arthur, another much-loved rescue, who is sadly no longer with us.
Pawsome Walkies is built on compassion, trust, and a genuine love for animals—and I treat every pet in my care like one of my own.

Most pet owners would agree—our dogs aren’t just pets, they’re part of the family. So why not make sure our four-legged family members live their best, most enriched lives?
Hiring a dog walker isn’t just about letting your dog out for a quick toilet break. It’s about giving them the exercise, stimulation, and socialisation they need to thrive. Regular walks help dogs burn off energy in a positive way, keeping them mentally and physically healthy, and often improving behaviour at home.
I learned firsthand just how valuable a dog walker can be when I welcomed my son in November 2017. With a newborn to care for, it was a huge relief knowing that Skye, my dog, was still getting the attention, exercise, and stimulation she needed. When I returned to work after maternity leave, having a trusted walker meant there was no frantic rush to get Skye out after a long day—I could focus on quality time with my son, and later enjoy calm, dedicated time with Skye too.
Life is busy—whether it’s work, family, or social commitments, there are times when we all need a helping hand. That’s where I come in. I’m here to give you peace of mind, knowing your dog is in safe, experienced hands. You’ll return home to a happy, relaxed, and well-exercised companion—ready to enjoy those precious moments together.
